Registration for ʻOkakopa Hoʻolauleʻa will be kept open until Monday, September 25. 109 vehicles were registrations as of today but some registrations are still pending completion. Keeping the registration open longer will allow these participants time to complete their registration and for auto club leaders time to let their members know about the event.
As of this evening the Porsche Club of America Hawaii Region is still first on the leaderboard with 26 cars registered, including three cars participating in the Concours d’Elegance. However, the Makana Kup Award is not guaranteed for them yet because the Island Vee Dubz club quickly moved up into second place with 11 cars registered, including one car entered in Concours. If there is any club on Oahu that can successfully challenge Porsche Club’s lead the Volkswagen enthusiast club is the one. They have the membership to bring many cars to the show. Can they do it? I know Sal Acosta and Todd Matsumoto think they can.
As of tonight the Participants List will not be published. The final list will be revealed again on event day. The reason for this is twofold. Some enthusiasts may not want to have their names and vehicles publicly listed. The other reason is that keeping the list closed will give the final run to event day an exciting finish.
Here is the link to enter vehicles into the Concours d’Elegance or into the Show and Shine.
The ʻOkakopa Hoʻolauleʻa is a private event for the auto enthusiast community. However, we will have a designated parking area for friends and other visitors.
Your friends and family will need to register in advance in order to attend the event. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ENTRY to the polo field without a VISITOR PARKING PASS.
To obtain a pass here is the link:
There is no parking fee to come as a visitor. However, please encourage your friends and family to include a donation to our beneficiary, the Waimanalo Elementary School. Your donations will help their students with the costs of school uniforms, field excursion fees and field trip transportation costs.
Why must access be restricted? The Honolulu Polo Club requires that all visitors to their polo field be identified. Thank you for your help with this.
We Will Have Bento Lunches Available
